Hole-In-One Facts

 

Longest hole-in-one was 447 yards, by Robert Mitera in 1965 at Miracle Hills Golf Club, Nebraska - 10th hole

 

The first hole-in-one recorded was by Tom Morris Jnr. in the 1868 Open Championship at Prestwick Club - 8th hole

 

Most holes-in-one during a single round - 3 by Dr. Joseph Boydstone of Bakersfield, California

 

It is estimated that a golfer has to hit on average 12,000 tee shots to score a hole-in-one.  Margaret Waldron, a 74 year old, legally blind lady scored her hole-in-one at the Long Point Golf Course, Florida in 1990.  Then did the same thing the next day at the same hole using the same ball!
