Uneven Lies (Side Hill)

If the ball is BELOW your feet, your shot will leak to the right (for a right hander).  The opposite is true if the ball is ABOVE your feet.  A proper setup adjustment will help adapt your swing to compensate.

Ball ABOVE your feet...

Possible Errors - pulling, hooking, and chunking the ball

To correct this:

1. Stand as perpendicular to the ground as possible (the body should be as close to a "normal relation" to the ground as possible).

2. Choke down on the club.

3. Position the ball near the center of your stance since the weight transfer will be minimized.

4. Take a few practice swings to get comfortable with the new adjustments.

5. Aim a bit right of the target to allow for the pull or hook.

6. Take a NORMAL swing.  Don't try to kill it!

Ball BELOW your feet...

Possible Errors - pushing, slicing, and thinning the ball

To correct this:

1. Stand as perpendicular as possible but "deeper in the knees"

2. Take a "full length" grip.

3. Stand closer to the ball

4. Aim to the left to allow for a push or slice.

5. Hit one EXTRA club to allow for a loss of distance.

6. Again...take a NORMAL swing.  Don't try to kill it!
